My homing process is a little different from other Rattery’s, but it is to both my benefit and yours!
Upon receipt of your application, I will approve or deny it (with feedback!), and add you to the Mesozoic Rat Owners group on Facebook where you can apply for available kittens at the time that best suits you – I, unfortunately, do not have the energy to chase people for weeks on end for answers, so it does require some input from yourself!
Please note – if you aren’t on Facebook I will still offer kittens to you via E-mail.
There are a few rules to bare in mind when applying for available kittens;
- Kittens will still be prioritised for Lone Rat situations or those who have been waiting for the longest.
- Kittens will also be allocated based on what is best for both owners and the rats.
Please note – as of the 1st February 2023 I will only home out groups of three to homes with no existing rats.
This is for a variety of reasons, but primarily the following;
- Rats can die unexplainably, I have had rats from the best breeders in the country pass away before they were a year old. If I had only had a pair that would have left me scrabbling for a companion, which isn’t fun and you may not find the right companion for you!
- It allows you to bond with them one-to-one without leaving anyone alone in the cage.
- It reduces the risk of bullying later down the line as the hierarchy is more stable among three vs two.
The cost of kittens as of the 1st of February 2023 is £60 for a pair and £75 for a trio. Unfortunately with rising costs, these prices are set for the future, however, should costs start to come down I will lower my prices again.
