Please note that all drop off/collection is doorstep only since covid-19, I am immunocompromised due to my disability – plus I have a dog and I don’t wish for anyone to be barrelled over by a bouncy labrador!

Drop Off & Collection Times
Mon – Fri 9am – 6pm
Saturday – 12pm – 6pm
Sunday – 12pm – 3pm

There is now an Out Of Hours fee of £15 for outside of these times.
Even with this fee, I cannot guarentee I will be available after your drop off/collection time if you turn up late.

If you are late to drop off or pick up without notifying me there is a £10 fee.
You will also be liable for the OOH fee if applicable.

Please note that we are closed for drop off/collection on these days:
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day
Boxing Day
New Years Eve
New Years Day

Should you wish to book around the above times you will have to add an extra day to your rats stay and pay the day rate.

I will always strive to reply within 24-48 hours.

When you book, you must know your dates and be prepared to pay a non-refundable 50% deposit in order to secure your spot.

The rest of the amount due is due the day before drop off.

Larger bookings of 30+ days can be split into payments if notice of 60 days before drop off is given.

I am especially busy around summertime and Christmas time so you will want to book early – if you’re not fast, you’re last!

Should you need to cancel or reschedule your booking, you will not receive your deposit back but it can be used towards a future booking should you reschedule within six months.

We currently have a varied selection suitable for groups up to 10, groups larger than this would need to be split into multiple cages.

All rats are provided a shunamite style mix made by myself in line with The Scuttling Gourmet – basically its a home made style of Rat Rations that meets all the rats dietary requirements, supplemented with DailyRat3 alongside lots of fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables.

Please let me know if you have a nut allergy as ocassionally my base mix contains nuts.

Nose to tail health checks are as standard, your rat will be examined daily to ensure nothing has changed with them health wise – should even the slightest issue be found you will be contacted to let you know and should veterinary treatment be required I have an exotics vet less than a minute away by car.

Medication must be brought in its original packaging with the vets instructions clearly on the label as well as the rat due for medication marked with a sharpie if you have rats of similar varieties.

I do not charge extra for medication administration.
I trained briefly as a veterinary nurse before becoming disabled, so have experience with even the wiggliest of rat!

I absolutely strive to offer all rats free roam based on their comfort levels – some rats lose a bit of confidence coming into a new space with a new human, so we build up to it slowly with cuddles and then table time and then eventually free roam in a dedicated pen!

However, some rats never feel confident enough to free roam – and thats totally okay, lots of in-cage enrichment is also provided such as pea fishing, paper to shred and make nests with, a tic tac wheel should your rats enjoy them, and so much more!

Hi! I’m Michelle, rat breeder since around 2018 and animal lover since ’99. I have owned animals since I entered this world and will own them until I leave! I have kept animals all my life – cats, mice, rats, ferrets, rabbits, reptiles, hamsters, fish and even birds!

I would consider myself experienced in all aspects of animal care, and this is why I am confident in supplying boarding to the public, and have multiple repeat clients who I can now call friends!

If you have a dog, you must tell me if they have been vaccinated for Kennel Cough/Bordetella in the past two months as the vaccination is live and can give the rats bordetella, which would be devastating for my rattery.

In my entire time boarding I have only had one rat pass under my care and it was expected due to their age, for this reason should you bring any rats over the age of two years old we will have to have a conversation about what to do should the worst happen.

This also applies if you know your rat is unwell/on medication at time of boarding.

It’s never an easy conversation but knowing your wishes is essential for our peace of mind.

Typically I try and say that “no news is good news” and hearing from me first is actually a bad thing, but I don’t mind the odd request for updates or photographs – however please bare in mind that I am disabled and may not be able to provide photographs or updates every few hours.

I understand you may be worried about your rats – they are your babies after all.
I will endeavour to provide updates but they are not guarenteed – all I can say is enjoy your holiday, your rats certainly are!
